Greenport + See Architecture Award winning remodel

The team at Greenport Construction paired up with See Architecture to help a young couple in Danville, California make their new home into the modern home of their dreams. The house initially was riddled with dated and damaged wood, when these two came across the home last year. This is when they approached See Architecture to assist with the restoration. 

See Architecture had a clear vision of how they were going to approach the renovation, and with the help from Greenport Construction, they succeeded in making the home into a modern beauty. 

Much of the old wood was replaced with a light African Mahogany, a theme which is heavily featured throughout the house. All of the wood used in the restoration project is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood, as both teams wanted to put an emphasis on using sustainable products.

Custom Millwork and Cabinetry by Greenport

See Architecture had big plans in mind with the kitchen - remove one of the walls to open it up into one of the dining areas, with all new custom cabinetry and appliances. Having worked together on a few projects in the past, See Arch. reached out to Greenport Designs to spearhead the cabinetry and kitchen design. 

Getting straight to work with the FSC certified African Mahogany, the team at Greenport fabricated the cabinets in their shop in San Rafael, and then installed them on-site in Danville. As per the request of the homeowners, Greenport designers focused on creating extra storage spaces while maintaining a modern and minimalist look.

Modern Wall Art Panel, Custom Benches and Bathroom Vanities by Greenport

While the team at Greenport worked heavily on the kitchen restoration portion, they also contributed other custom woodworking pieces throughout the house. The living room features two pieces: a stylish mahogany wall panel, and a sleek entry bench. 

The custom wall art panel, made with the same African Mohagany, features geometric tessellations to reinforce the modern aesthetic consistent throughout the house. 

Adjacent from the wall art in the living room lies an entry bench, made from (can you guess?) the same African Mahogany. This piece was a personal favorite of Greenport Construction's owner, Eli Froneberger, noting that the bench design and shape are consistent with the wood ceiling beams and paneling directly above. 

The two bathroom vanities designed at See Architecture were also fabricated by the Greenport team. These two vanities are of the same wood as the other pieces, with a slightly darker finish to give contrast within the alabaster-white tiled bathroom.
